Linzee Klinkenberg
Artistic Director
Boulder native Linzee Klinkenberg earned her BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. Her teaching experience includes guest residencies at Whitman College, the University of Washington, the University of Colorado, and Cornish College. She has choreographed and performed with North West favorites including Spectrum Dance Theatre, Wade Madsen, Deborah Wolf, Michael Foley, Seattle Fringe Festival and Strictly Seattle, and New York based choreographers John Passifume and Mark Haim. Locally, she has worked with Helander Dance Theatre, Haan Dances, Interweave Dance Theatre, 40 Women over 40, and Boulder Ballet. Linzee founded New Breed Dance Company in 2011, and community dance companies The Funkettes and Hard Times in 2015. As Artistic Director, choreographer, producer, and performer, Linzee loves to create work that entertains and uplifts her audiences. Her diverse background includes extensive experience as a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor. She is deeply passionate about her impact as a certified executive coach and professional public speaker. Linzee’s greatest work is her role as mother of three young sons.
Kelsey Kempfer
Co-Artistic Director
Kelsey is a Boulder Native who started dancing at the age of three. She grew up studying with Expressions Dance Company and Grace Studios School of Dance, then continued her education at the University of Colorado where she received Bachelor degrees in Dance and Sociology in 2009. While at CU she was awarded the Jamie Kellam Redmond Scholarship and the Talent and Creativity University Dance Award, along with being a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the National Scholar Honor Society. Kelsey has extensive performance, competition, teaching, and choreographic experience, and has been trained in the various styles of Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, and West African dance. She was a faculty member at Grace Studios School of Dance for over 20 years, teaching multiple styles and techniques to children, teens, and adults. Her choreography has been given top awards at many regional and national dance competitions across the country. She has performed professionally in more than 50 shows within the US, and over the years she has had the privilege of working with many nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. She has danced professionally with Moraporvida Contemporary Dance, Interweave Dance Theater, Cindy Brandle Dance Company, and Helander Dance Theater. Currently, she is a co-director of New Breed Dance Company, and her work has been selected for multiple national and international film festivals. When she is not dancing, Kelsey works as a Warranty Coordinator for Boulder Creek Neighborhoods, and spent 12 years as a social worker for disabled adults. She also enjoys horror movies, karaoke, tequila, & fluffy animals.
